Friction Tool Engineering Services

Torque & Drag Modelling

FTS models casing runs based on planned well and actual well surveys using industry leading Landmark software.

  • Soft and stiff string analysis allow calculation of all forces acting upon the BHA, including torque, drag, stresses and side forces.

  • Model hook-load, tension, torque, side force, stress, twist & stretch, drag, pressure & stand-off plots.

  • Range analysis calculation tool automatically performs a full analysis at varying depths and provides a summary of surface results.

  • Friction Factor sensitivity calculation with calibration tools to accurately determine Friction Factors from hook-load and torque data.

  • Buckling stress and length change calculations.


Offset Well Analysis

FTS successfully models and verifies casing runs for horizontal and extended reach wells, through complex geological formations.

  • Derive benchmarks for running speeds and tortuosity.

  • Determine average Friction Factors in different sections of the wellbore.

  • Work closely with clients to reach objectives and ensure maximum efficiency running casing.

  • Provides optimization recommendations based on data analysis.
